DOI: https://doi.org/10.56293/IJMSSSR.2024.5003

ABSTRACT: The purpose of the review was to establish the relationship between entrepreneurship skills development and a sustainable education system. The introduction of entrepreneurship skills development into the education system in Zimbabwe was meant to equip students with life skills. Currently, the education system focuses mainly on theoretical components, a thing that has caused high unemployment among school leavers. The study noted that the continued production of job-seekers instead of job-creators by schools, colleges and universities in Zimbabwe has affected the sustainability of the education system. This review established that entrepreneurship skills development and a sustainable education system are closely linked. The review noted that to government and parents, the purpose of sending children to school at high costs is to prepare them for life and if after education, school-leavers cannot be absorbed in in the job market, it is a waste of time and resources. It was also a finding of this review that entrepreneurship training in schools, colleges and universities significantly lowers unemployment since it equips students with innovative skills to generate income by producing goods and services. To develop entrepreneurial skills among students, the review recommended that authorities should review the curriculum in schools, colleges and universities to make entrepreneurial training mandatory. Students as early as primary school should know that to eke a living, one must grab opportunities, utilise resources, through production of goods and services, penetrate the market, make money and that it is with such money that a person can meet the other basic needs.

DOI: https://doi.org/10.56293/IJMSSSR.2024.5007

ABSTRACT:Sustainability of water resource projects is increasingly becoming an area of concern for researchers given the climate change, amplified scarcity of water resources and the continued failure of many water resource projects. Community management was viewed as an accepted model that leads to sustainability water resource projects but it also had issues due to social, technical, multi-stakeholder and financial constraints. In the past decade various remedies aimed at promoting sustainability of projects have been tried. One of the prescriptions has been Multi-stakeholder collaboration in community water resource projects. This study sought to establish the influence of Multi-stakeholder collaboration in sustainability of community water resource projects in Nyeri County, Kenya. The study adopted a mixed method research anchored on a concurrent triangulation in which structured questionnaires, Key Informant Interviews and Focus Group Discussions were the main tools for data collection. Arithmetic mean and standard deviation were generated from the descriptive data. Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation Coefficient(r) was computed. The study contacted 290 respondents out of which 207 positively responded to a survey questionnaire. This represented a successful return rate of 71.38 percent. The study established a significant independent influence of Multi-stakeholder collaboration on sustainability of community water resource projects. To guarantee project sustainability the study recommends that community water resource projects should be delivered in Multi-stakeholder collaboration to enable access to resources that are out of reach of the community.

13. LOOPING EDUCATION: AN ERADICATION OF ACADEMIC SNAGS

Eva C. Gumallawe

DOI: https://doi.org/10.56293/IJMSSSR.2024.5013

ABSTRACT:My drive for this study was to describe the experiences of the public school teachers in practicing soft skills to experience the joys of teaching in their respective workplaces in due course. Experiential confirmations unveiled that soft skills are indispensable in the emancipation of the duties and responsibilities of the teachers to their journey in the quest for the joy of teaching. Thus, my phenomenological study exposed the experiences of the ten elementary school teachers in the Division of Davao Occidental using the purposive sampling technique. Teachers bare that, for them, the soft skills that are easy to manifest are: inspiration to learners, attitude towards work, communication with co-teachers, collaboration in school, and self-sacrifice for the service. They also uncovered that the soft skills that were difficult to practice are time management, patience in service, verbal communication, decision-making, and conflict resolution. Likewise, they also have made known the reasons why master soft skills which were the impressions that soft skills build rapport and camaraderie. This advent served as a paradigm shift in teaching as it demanded teachers to cope with the constantly changing world to attain job satisfaction. This study, then, should work for the inspiration of teachers to enthusiastically engage in teaching with the manifestation of soft skills – a practice that would advance good relationships among teachers, learners, school officials, and other stakeholders whereby transform teaching and learning into a more fun, engaging, and productive encounters.

14. INFLATION RESPONSE IN INDONESIA AND 3 ASIAN TRADING PARTNER COUNTRIES DUE TO THE MOVEMENT OF IDR-CNY-JPY-SGD EXCHANGE RATE AGAINST U$D, AND IMPORTS BEFORE AND DURING COVID-19 (2010.Q1-2022.Q2)

Yohan, Patta Tope, Haerul Anam, Nudiatulhuda Mangun, Suparman

DOI: https://doi.org/10.56293/IJMSSSR.2024.5014

ABSTRACT:A country's economy will face problems related to inflation. High demand, rising production costs, and an increase in the money supply have been the causes of inflation in many countries. The development of trade activities between countries puts currency exchange rates and import levels can also cause inflation. This study reveals the differences in inflation response as a result of currency exchange rate movements (IDR; CNY; YUAN; and SGD against U$D), as well as imports in the period before and during Covid-19. By using panel data regression with the Fixed Effect (FE) approach, the results show that the inflation response in each country (Indonesia, China, Japan, and Singapore) as a result of changes in each country's currency exchange rate against USD is negative and significant, as well as imports with a negative but insignificant effect. The difference in inflation response as a result of exchange rate and import movements before and during Covid-19 shows differences in the intercept of the inflation response. When during the Covid-19 Pandemic, There was a decline in the domestic price level, despite the depreciation of the currency and an increase in imports. The decline in the price level is more due to the economic conditions in the observed country experiencing sluggishness, increased imports lead to high competition in the commodity market, decreased purchasing power and in turn lead to a decline in the domestic price level. In analysing inflation, it is important to consider inflation control policies that include aspects of competition in the domestic economy, as well as consider shocks from the aspect of world security stability that can cause problems for a country's economy.

17. Gig Economy and Remote Work Challenge Traditional Retirement Planning

Dr. Andreas Svoboda

DOI: https://doi.org/10.56293/IJMSSSR.2024.5017

ABSTRACT:This paper explores how the rise of the gig economy and remote work disrupts traditional retirement planning models. While these work arrangements offer flexibility, they lack employer-sponsored benefits and create inconsistent income streams, making saving for retirement difficult. The paper identifies challenges like inconsistent income, lack of employer contributions, and inadequate policy support for gig and remote workers. It proposes solutions including portable retirement accounts, policy reforms like tax incentives, and increased corporate responsibility towards worker retirement savings. Additionally, enhancing financial literacy is crucial for workers to navigate these new work models. By adapting retirement planning models and implementing these solutions, we can ensure a more inclusive and secure retirement planning landscape for the evolving workforce.

ABSTRACT: The goal of my research would be to describe the experiences of teachers on digital innovations. Experiential pieces of evidence revealed that educational leadership goes through a broad-spectrum a dearth of logical academic inquiry on matters on teachers’ cyber aptitude. Thus, my phenomenological study revealed the experiences of the 11 elementary school teachers in the Division of Davao Occidental using the purposive sampling technique. Teachers exposed that they were using the digital innovations they considered best to improve classroom instructions: instructional videos, localized instructional materials in PowerPoint presentation, and computerized worksheets and reading materials. These were inspired by the teachers’ educational technology pursuits and their ideal picture of an instructional leader as globally competitive with the 21st Century skills. To deal with the fast advancing technologies, teachers were with the school community managing resources and delivering instructions with the integration of technology resulting in productive and all-inclusive education; where learners endured learning. This development served as a paradigm shift in teaching as it demanded teachers to cope with the constantly changing world to attain job satisfaction. In the entirety, digital innovations through creating technology-based instruction and digital innovations implementation in the school, as well as, facilitating ICT integration in teaching and learning as part of the curriculum instruction unraveled the need of the 21st Century learners.

23. LEGAL SOLUTIONS TO THE NEGATIVE IMPACT OF THE COVERT DECRIMINALIZATION POLICY ON DEFAMATION USING INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AGAINST DECEASED PEOPLE IN INDONESIA

Widodo

DOI: https://doi.org/10.56293/IJMSSSR.2024.5023

ABSTRACT: Constitutionally, everyone in Indonesia has the right to express opinions, but their contents are prohibited from slandering others. Defamation of living and deceased people using information technology is not permitted in Article 27, paragraph (3) of the Information and Electronic Transactions Act of 2008 and 2016. However, through the Second Amendment to these articles in 2024, the object of defamation becomes unclear. It is not clear whether the humans are alive or whether they are among the deceased people. The covert decriminalization policy must be found for a solution so that the dignity of the deceased and their heirs is respected. It is necessary to study (a) why the covert decriminalization policy in Article 27A needs to be removed and (b) the legal solution so that the covert decriminalization policy is removed to protect the rights of deceased people and their heirs. These two problems were researched using doctrinal legal research methods using a statutory regulation approach and a comparative legal approach. Researchers found that eliminating covert decriminalization follows Indonesia's version of divine and humanitarian values, does not violate everyone's constitutional rights to express opinions, makes law enforcement more straightforward, and follows criminal law in several countries, including Singapore and Thailand. The elimination of covert decriminalization is carried out by explaining Article 27A in the Third Amendment to the Information and Electronic Transactions Act.

35. ROTATING SAVINGS AND CREDIT ASSOCIATIONS AND GROWTH OF WOMEN OWNED MICRO SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES, IN BOMET COUNTY, KENYA

Ruth Chepkemoi Serem & Dr. Ambrose Jagongo

DOI: https://doi.org/10.56293/IJMSSSR.2024.5035

ABSTRACT: Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) form the backbone of economies worldwide, comprising over 90% of businesses and playing a pivotal role in employment and value addition, particularly in nonagricultural sectors. In Kenya, this sector has been instrumental in sustaining livelihoods for millions, spanning both formal and informal economies. Despite their significance, SMEs often grapple with limited access to credit, a challenge exacerbated by perceived riskiness from the banking sector, attributed to the inherent opacity of smaller enterprises compared to their larger counterparts. Interestingly, they emerge as crucial lifelines, especially for women-owned businesses, offering alternative avenues for capital accumulation. However, despite the acknowledged importance of SMEs, research on their growth hurdles yields conflicting results, underscoring the need for a nuanced understanding. Therefore, this study sought to establish the effect of The Role of Rotating Savings and Credit Associations (ROSCA's) to the growth of women owned Micro small and medium enterprises (MSME’s) in Bomet County, Kenya. The study adopted descriptive survey design. The target population was 270 registered and active women owned Micro Small and Medium Enterprises and a sample size of 135 was used. The study used both semi-structured questionnaire and data collection sheet to collect data. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The findings from data analysis indicated that lending policies have no statistical significance effect on the growth of women owned businesses (p-value= 0.020 > 0.05). The findings from the testing of literacy level of members on growth women owned businesses indicated there there exists a positive effect (β = .895, p <.05). Guided by the findings a number of recommendations were made. Rotating Savings and Credit Associations (ROSCA's) should devise strategies on how they can save some funds for investments in income generating projects, this way members can increase their income pool. Lastly, ROSCA's should engage in training its members on financial management as it was noted to be a significant factor in influencing the growth of women owned Micro small and medium enterprises.
